During the long memorial day weekend we loaded up the car and went camping for a few day in Newcomb NY, in the middle of the Adirondack Park. We left on Friday just a bit after lunch hoping to avoid traffic if any. The ride was ok except for minor slow downs near Worcester MA and Albany NY. We got there in the late afternoon and started putting up together the tent and the gazebo. Beside all the bugs, the campsite was very nice. It is situated on the banks of Lake Harris, and our site had direct access to a small private beach .

Saturday May 26th

The next day we went for a hike in the morning, we climb up to the summit of nearby Mt Goodnow and enjoyed beautiful scenery from the top of the scarily “see-through” fire tower. Once again the only annoyance were bugs… lots of them!!! We got back to the car and drove back to the camp for a well deserved meal.

We have picked a date! August 23, 2008

Hopefully this will be a good time for everyone to take a trip out to New England! We are also going to have a ceremony/reception in France on August 30, 2008. Hopefully a year and a half will give us enough time to save and plan for both weddings

So take out your plan books and pencil in those dates!

On Thursday evening, May 3, Matthieu told me to pack a bag for the weekend because he was taking me on a weekend trip. The next morning I spend at least 30min trying to pick what to wear because I had no idea where we were going or what we were doing! I think I packed 5 shirts for two days. It was so exciting!

We both went to work on Friday. I was so excited the entire day and could not wait to get out of work and find out where we were going. Matt picked me up when he finished work, gave me an agenda with the plans for the weekend and we were off to “location 1″ in his plan. “Location 1″ turned out to be The Pheasant Hill B&B in Marblehead, MA. We checked in around around 7:00pm.

I was so hungry when we got there and as soon as we put our bags down I was ready to get going and eat some great seafood! Matt told me I should change my shoes because my feet would be cold at dinner if we were out on the water. While I was changing my shoes he went and sat on the bed. After my sneakers were on, I grabbed his hand and tried to pull him up so we could get going. He asked what the rush was and when I turned back around he had the ring!
